Worth knowing
- Bringing the oil up to temperature is the expensive part; holding it there cycles at a fraction of the rated draw.
- Frying in batches without letting the oil recover wastes both time and electricity, because the element runs continuously trying to catch up.
- An air fryer draws similar wattage but heats air rather than oil, so it reaches temperature in a fraction of the time.
