Worth knowing
- An air fryer draws about half the wattage of a full oven and heats a far smaller space, so it is usually cheaper for a single portion even though both are 'hot'.
- The element cycles once the set temperature is reached, so the effective draw over a cook is below the nameplate rating.
- Air fryers need little or no preheat, which removes the most expensive part of oven cooking.
