Worth knowing
- The element does not run continuously — after preheat it cycles to hold temperature, so a two-hour roast does not cost twice a one-hour roast.
- Preheating is the most expensive part of a short bake, because the element runs at full draw the whole time.
- A countertop toaster oven or air fryer heats a much smaller cavity and usually costs less for a small dish, despite a similar wattage.
